How do I watch a webcast?
Simply choose the show you want to watch from the webcast home page. The broadcast will start about 15 minutes before the show begins so that you have time to make sure everything is working correctly. However, you must be a member of The Rave Live to watch a webcast.
How do I become a member of The Rave Live?
At the top of any page, click 'Free Signup.' Then register yourself as a fan (unless you're in a band, then register as a band). You'll receive an email verification. Click on the link in the email to verify that your email address is correct. You can then optionally set up your user profile just as you would on any other social networking website.
How much does it cost to watch a webcast?
At the moment, all webcasts are free (to registered users). In order to recover the large costs of video streaming, some future webcasts may cost anywhere from $.99 to $6.99.
Do I need any special software or plug-ins to watch the broadcast?
Currently, The Rave Live uses Windows Media Encoders, so you would need to have the Windows Media Player on your computer. Mac Users can download windows media player here. We will be switching to a Flash Media Encoder in February 2010, so all broadcasts will be available via your Flash player, which 99% of computers have.
All I see is an empty stage or a red 'The Rave Live' logo. What's going on?
You probably tuned in during set change time. Just hang in there, and you'll see the next band soon.
All I see is black, or its very dark. What's going on?
The band controls how much light is on stage. There could just be very little light on stage at the moment.
Are you going to rebroadcast (band name)?
Each band, their management, and record label determine how many times and when we can rebroadcast their show. If you don't see it on our Upcoming Webcast page, we don't have any information on a rebroadcast at this time.
Hey, (bandname) is part of that show you're streaming. Why aren't they part of the webcast?
More than likey, they declined to be part of the broadcast for any number of reasons.
Can I watch an archived webcast?
At this time, that is not possible. We plan to put up some short clips from shows if we can get the band's permission.
